There has been some discussion as to whether we should allow the original XBOX platform to participate in the next LAN gaming event. While those of us at XBTR have looked at the pro's and con's of allowing and not allowing older console owners to participate, we wanted to ask you, our XBTR members, your thoughts with respect to this question.

I don't have a problem with classic consoles being included but I do think the greater emphasis should be on 360 gaming. We have had Halo 2 tournaments at the past events and I really think we need to do a Gears of War team tournament this time around. I mean really, we are supposed to be XBOX Team Rochester and I think that means that we should all keep up with the latest system from XBOX if we want to play.
Maybe the classic system players could have their own sub-tournament and make it with a game they all agree upon. It doesn't necessarily even have to be on the back compat list or Live! enabled as long as it works via system link. Also I know that many of the junior players, including IceManXBTR's crew haven't been able to participate before because they haven't had a console to play on. This time around many of the core members can play on their 360s and some of the other folks can play via their classic consoles.
If this is the case I think we will have a great opportunity to play an open game of Halo 2 after or during the tournaments and that can be open to everyone.
Bring the classic if you want, but there are no games on it I want to play. You can put the Gears of war disk in the classic xbox drive but it wont work. HEHE

I Agree with Ghostrider we should have a 4 on 4 team gears of war tourney. also I totally agree with Danero in the case that I have no real desire to play any older xbox games. But hey you guys can play a halo 2 tourney doesn't seem right to exclude people just cuz they don't have a 360 .
